ABOUT
Flóra Borsi is a contemporary artist working with photography and constructed imagery. Through meticulously crafted self-portraits and conceptual narratives, she explores identity, perception, emotional vulnerability and the relationship between humans and the natural world. Her practice combines photography, performance and digital image construction to create psychologically charged visual worlds that blur the boundary between reality and imagination.
Borsi belongs to a generation of artists who redefined the possibilities of photographic self-portraiture in the digital age, using constructed imagery not as visual illusion but as a psychological and symbolic language.
Her work explores identity, self-perception and the emotional complexities of the human experience through constructed photographic imagery. Working primarily with self-portraiture, she creates meticulously staged compositions in which photography, performance and digital image construction merge into a single visual language.
Rather than documenting reality, Borsi builds psychological spaces where symbolism, surrealism and carefully orchestrated visual metaphors become vehicles for exploring memory, intimacy, vulnerability and transformation. Her recurring use of animals, fragmented portraits and concealed identities reflects an ongoing investigation into the relationship between the inner self and its outward representation.
Over the past decade, her work has been exhibited internationally in Europe and the United States and is held in museum and private collections worldwide. She has presented solo exhibitions internationally, including at Lanoue Gallery in Boston, Anna Laudel in Düsseldorf and has exhibited at the Louvre in Paris.
Borsi's work has received international recognition through awards, institutional exhibitions and major publications. She was featured in Forbes 30 Under 30, selected as Hasselblad's first Heroine of the Year, and is a Grand Prize winner of the Florence Biennale. Her work has also been featured by publications including BBC Culture and The Guardian's Observer.
Alongside her artistic practice, Borsi has collaborated with leading international brands including Adobe, for whom she created both the global face of Adobe Photoshop and the visual identity of Adobe Creative Cloud.
