ANIMEYED
Animeyed is an ongoing self-portrait series in which I explore the intimate, often overlooked connection between humans and animals. Each image is a visual dialogue — not just between species, but between identity and otherness. By sharing one of my eyes with an animal, I symbolically blur the line between the human and the non-human, inviting viewers to reflect on the emotional, physical, and even spiritual similarities we share with the creatures around us.
In Animeyed II, the evolution of the series continues through stylized portraits that merge my own image with a diverse range of animals — from the delicacy of a rabbit to the intricate form of a beetle. Makeup, costume, and digital post-production allow me to transform myself in ways that honor the textures, colors, and presence of each subject. These creatures are not props — they are equal protagonists in the composition.
Some of the animals hold deeply personal meaning for me. The black swan, for instance, resonates with my own experiences of being misunderstood or excluded for being different. In that piece, I created a dramatic feathery eye using digital techniques to visually express that kinship — a quiet rebellion, a merging of vulnerability and strength.
But beyond my personal narrative, Animeyed is also a call for empathy. These images aim to celebrate the beauty and uniqueness of each species — not just aesthetically, but ethically. Every animal, from the smallest fish to the most majestic bird, deserves to be seen, respected, and protected. Through this work, I hope to encourage a more sensitive way of looking — one that acknowledges the silent stories in every pair of eyes.
