DENTELLE
Created as a series of self-portraits using a Hasselblad X2D and Profoto D2 lighting, this project explores the transformative potential of an ordinary material - lace - within the genre of portraiture.
I was particularly interested in how such a delicate but ordinary textile could be reimagined to evoke sensitivity, intimacy, and subtle emotional depth. After a long pause from studio portrait work, returning to this environment required both discipline and experimentation. The process challenged me to step beyond my comfort zone, pushing my creative and technical limits while rediscovering the expressive possibilities of light, texture, and form. Through these images, lace becomes more than a material, it acts as a visual bridge between hiding and revealing, shaping the mood and narrative of each portrait.
