Fifteen Years of Self-Portraits

For fifteen years I have photographed the only subject that has always been available to me: myself.

This was never an act of self-documentation. It was a way of giving form to emotions, thoughts and questions that were difficult to express otherwise.

Animals, flowers and imagined characters became symbols rather than selfies. They carried grief, longing, vulnerability, resilience or the search for belonging. My own body became the place where these inner states could exist.

Working alone was never simply a practical decision. As an introvert, I often found solitude to be the only space where an image could fully emerge. When an idea arrived, it felt like something entrusted to me - something I needed to realize myself, without translating it through another person.

Looking back after fifteen years, the photographs reveal less a portrait of one individual than an ongoing attempt to understand how identity, emotion and imagination can take visible form.
